Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Begin by preparing the curry sauce. In a saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until they become soft and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Once the onion and garlic are softened, add the curry powder and paprika to the saucepan. Stir well to combine and let the spices toast for about a minute, releasing their flavors.
  3. Next, pour in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar, stirring until all ingredients are well combined. Allow the sauce to simmer over low heat for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. While the curry sauce is simmering, cook the bratwurst sausages. You can grill them, pan-fry them, or cook them according to your preference until they are fully cooked and have a nice golden-brown color.
  5. Once the sausages are cooked, transfer them to a cutting board and slice them into bite-sized pieces.
  6. To serve, place the sliced bratwurst onto a plate or a serving dish, and generously spoon the warm curry sauce over the top. If desired, sprinkle a little extra curry powder on top for garnish.
  7. Serve the Currywurst immediately while it's still hot, along with some crusty bread or French fries on the side for dipping into the delicious curry sauce.
