Chicken Shawarma Pizza

Shawarma Pizza recipe featuring tahini, tomatoes, and red onion, inspired by Middle Eastern flavors. You can use store-bought dough or make your own. This version assumes chicken shawarma, but you can substitute with beef, lamb, or a plant-based alternative.

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, and all the shawarma spices.
  2. Add the chicken, mix well, and marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 24 hours in the fridge).
  3. Cook the chicken in a hot skillet over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through (about 6–8 minutes). Set aside.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Add water gradually until the sauce is creamy but pourable.
  6. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, even better—heat it up.
  7. Roll out your dough on a floured surface and place it on a pizza pan or hot stone.
  8. Optionally brush the dough with olive oil or a bit of tahini sauce.
  9. Sprinkle a small amount of mozzarella (if using).
  10. Evenly distribute the cooked chicken, tomato slices/dice, and red onion.
  11. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until crust is golden and toppings are sizzling.
  12. Garnish & Serve
  13. Drizzle generously with tahini sauce.
  14. Top with fresh parsley or cilantro.
  15. Serve hot—with extra tahini or a squeeze of lemon if desired.
